Desktop shows in composition mode

I’m using the latest version of Scrivener on Mac OS Big Sur (11.6). When I use composition mode with a dark theme (A Midsummer Night or Solarized Dark), then I can faintly see the windows from other desktops (usually just the menu bar at the top). It’s pretty faint, but still quite distracting. This shows up both through the composition mode background, and the “paper”.

Strangely, when I try to take a screenshot of this, it doesn’t show anything. The background fade is set to mimimum, and (also strangely) when I do fade the background, the desktop that’s revealed is not the same as the one that faintly shows through!

Thanks in advance - please let me know if you need any additional information.

Best wishes,

OK, it seems like this is not a problem with Scrivener, but something related to the LCD display of my Mac. I switch on a busy screensaver, and the ghost images have now faded! Sorry for bothering everyone.
