Hi,
Do anyone know how to disable automatic changings in text edit ?
It´s really annoying when writing and the program chooses to suddenly give you bold characters, even though you did not chose it and not need it.
How do you disable automatical shifts ? I personally do not need them. I prefer to select it my self when I need to change the text.
Thank you
I can’t think of much in Scrivener that would actually do that. Unlike Word, it doesn’t attempt to figure out what you are typing and change the formatting on the fly. The only thing that might work that way is Scriptwriting mode, which is definitely a guided formatting system, very much on purpose. Make sure you aren’t using that mode if you do not need it, by pressing Ctrl+8
/ ⌘8
(toggle it back of with the same shortcut if that actually turns it on).
Otherwise, what Scrivener does do by default are some character level typing aids (such as capitalising the first letter after a full stop), which can all be switched off in the Corrections preferences tab, and in the Edit ▸ Substitutions
submenu, as is traditional for Mac software.
