I noticed it was a little glitchy while I was typing- I wish I could be more specific, but I can’t.
Anyway, when I finished the scene I wanted to add a paragraph from an existing file. When I clicked on the scene, the text disappeared. I thought for a moment that maybe that file was blank, and checked another scene. The text disappeared from that too. The title of the scenes remain, but the text is just gone.
Hello, M. R. could you check your version for me? Click Help -> About Scrivener. You should be on version 1.3. If the option is not even available to click, or you are not on 1.3 you can download the more recent version in this thread.
I believe all disappearing text issues were fixed by this version, but if you are updated and still having the issue let me know.
The issue seems to be related to copy and past. I copied the project (about 100,000 words) into Scriv from Word. I’ve done some editing of existing text with no problems. When this happened, I had started a scene from scratch. Scriv acted glitch from the start- slow response to typing, with trouble moving the cursor. Since the text disappeared, I’ve been pasting a block of text, typing, then deleting the pasted text when I’m done. Scriv responds normally when I do this.
If any text disappears again, try something and let me know if it works. Click View -> Show Invisibles. This worked on previous disappearing text issues (which normally manifested at a switch between files). The text was there, just invisible.
