When you open Keywords they appear in the center of the screen. Why not have that panel open in the Keywords area of the “i” column? Just a thought.
Because the Keywords area of the inspector shows you which keywords are assigned to that particular document. The Keywords panel shows you all the keywords that exist, so that you can choose which one(s) to assign. Note that you can drag the panel to any location on the screen that you like.

Thanks, Katherine! Perhaps a “lock in place” or “dock here” option would be nice. I’m finding Keywords to be extremely valuable. Even if I have to drag them.
