Do not start automatically after compiling file Scrivener to LibreOffice Writer

Hello,

I don’t want a compiled file to be automatically read into LibreOffice Writer or Microsoft Word.
Where can I find the setting to prevent this.

I have discovered that when I read the text as Scrivener does take the correct settings.

So how do I disable the feature that automatically launches LibreOffice Writer or MS Word after compiling a Scrivener file?
Thanks for your time and attention!

I’m sorry, but I don’t understand what you’re saying here.

When I compile to .docx or .pdf or .mobi or anything, the end result is that Scrivener places the compiled file inside the folder I chose. That’s it. Nothing further happens.

Are you saying that Scrivener takes the additional step of automatically launching Word or Writer? Without you clicking or doing anything?

Best,
Jim

Yes, it will do that if you go into the general options tab on the right side of the compile overview screen, and enable Open compiled document in default application.

Hello AmberV,

Thanks for your response.

Unfortunately I can’t find the option under ‘enable Open Compiled documennt in default application’. Can you maybe help me by sending me a printscreen that will block LibreOffice Writer from opening automatically?

I am very grateful to you!

Hello JimRac,

Thank you for your response!

After the file is compiled automatically to an odt file, LibreOffice Writer is automatically started. And that is not the intention.

Below I have asked AmberV to send me a print screen where I can see where exactly I can switch off this process. I’m waiting for this response from her. Thanks again!

Dear AmberV,

Thank you very much for your detailed explanation. Now I can finally deal with the typographic side of my book.

Thanks again!
