Using iPAD Pro - What function does the “DONE” perform in the top right of a draft?
Tried to add an image but it wont let me! Maybe because I am using iPAD?

If you’re referring to the ‘Done’ in the upper right corner of the Editor pane, which you see when you click inside a document to put it into editing mode, then clicking Done tells Scrivener you’re done editing, and takes the document out of editing mode and into reading or browse mode.
(I’m not sure how L&L officially refers to those modes, but that’s how I think of them. )
Best,
Jim
That’s what I am referring to but what are the benefits/advantages?
The onscreen keyboard retracts. You can move to a different document. There’s also some friction (tapping in the text) before you make changes.
This. I wouldn’t my docs to go directly into editing mode if I was reading through them, because sooner or later I’d surely make some horrific fat finger mistake and cause extensive collateral damage.
Regarding inserting an image: You have to be editing a document (DONE is visible.). Find the pen icon on Scrivener’s extra keyboard row. Tap it, then tap insert image. You’ll get a choice of where to get an image from. Choose an image and it will be popped into your text at the insertion point. Or, you can copy and paste an image into your text.
Before you ask, no, there’s nothing by way of image adjustment in iOS Scrivener.
If what you’re asking is how to add an image FILE, you can’t do that in your Draft folder. As with Mac and Windows Scrivener, the Draft folder is strictly for text files. Put non-text files elsewhere, such as your Reasearch folder.
Hope this helps!
My fault for being ambiguous. I had meant inserting an image in the post in this forum. I have no probs inserting images in Scrivener.
I had taken a screenshot to include in my first post (above) to show what I meant by “DONE”.
Thanks.
Oh, that. Yes, I found it confusing at first myself. Here’s a post I made recently that describes how to do it:

The attachment takes me to add files but the Add Files button doesn’t respond when pressed.
I thought this was just another example of some tabs not working on iOS/iPADOS
You’re right, and I’ve been lazy. I encountered this months ago and didn’t report the website bug, just switched to my Mac when I needed to upload files. I’ll report it right now.
Thank you!
I must confess that Scrivener is my go to app for writing, even just letters. I use Word or Pages if formatting is needed. Still jealous that Scapple is not on iPad/Phone!
You’re welcome! I haven’t used Scrivener for letters, but I used it for a non-profit’s convention program once. It maybe wasn’t the ideal tool, but it wasn’t Word…
