With Scrivener 1.8.6.0 on Windows 7 SP1, the opening double quote (i.e., quotation mark) is reversed when placed inside parentheses:
It’s a workaround, but you might try putting a space immediately after the opening parenthesis, typing the quote, and then deleting the space. I’m pretty sure that works for some of the other wonky quote problems.
