Drag And Drop A Doc File Into Scrivener Binder

Hello. I just tried to drop a Doc file into Scrivener and I got three notices saying it can’t open the Doc file. Is there a way to drop a Doc file into Scrivner’s Binder area? I could have sworn I had done that before. Now it didn’t go. Anyone?

Thanks

I had something where could not open folder with file in it, I duplicated it and the original became accessible not sure why that happened, easy enough to try. Yes, you should be able to drop and drag.
Not sure if 3.11 bug???

You have to import the file via the file menu. Or use Ctrl+Shift+I.

You can do that, but yes you can drag and drop do it all the time between projects.

Thank You Vincent. Now I need to type so twenty letters goes into this space

To the main question: what I would ask is where in the software are you dropping the “doc” and what type of file are you referring to as a doc? Lastly, what is the exact wording of the three warning messages you got? You can drop files of most any kind into the binder, but if you try to drop something that doesn’t fit, like a movie into your Draft folder, where the final document outline exists, it won’t let you.

That rule exists to help keep conversations from fluffing out with stuff like “thanks” or “+1” posts that we all have to scroll past. If you just want to express gratitude, that’s what the little heart button can be used for. Not only will they get the message you intend, it gives their account a little boost.
