I attach *.html files via “Document References” > “Look Up & Add External Reference”. Would be nice if I could later on, drag that *.html file over to my HTML text editor and load it.
Actually, I just discovered if I right-click I get a context menu with
- Open in Current Editor
- Open in Other Editor
- Open in Default Editor
Now I just need to figure out what all these editors are, and how to get the editor I like, to be one of those.
(My last post giving an overview of how I appear to be using Scrivener and not using Scrivener, apparently ended up as a reply to the “BEFORE POSTING” topic, which is embarrassing. I guess it proves I read that post—and then didn’t pay much attention to where I was.)
I also just discovered I CAN drag the file from “Document References” to any other program except my favorite editor, which is strange since “drag-n-drop” is how I load all files into my favorite editor. Wonder why it doesn’t work for Scrivener? Strange… C’est la vie…
OK now I discovered I actually CAN’T drag the file to any program, just the cursor changes but i cant drop the file. I tried dropping the file on Notepad but didn’t work.
So back to my original wish; which is, I’d like to be able to open the *.html file I have in “Document References” send it to my favorite HTML editor.
