By default, the ePub cover (at least as it shows in iBooks) is a colored background, the name of the work in large text, and the name of the author in smaller text. Is it possible to add dynamic content to this cover such as the date printed?
If a publisher / author doesn’t provide a cover, Apple Books (iBooks of old) will create a default cover as you describe. This cannot be customised by any setting in Scrivener (or Books), other than to design a cover with the info that you want to display and to add that during compile.
