I think I was the first to come up with this idea on XDA Devs last year and now someone has done it:

What it means is that thanks to B&N previously not locking down their device we were able to allow full keyboard typing with a eink display for the first time.
It’s not perfect but it could be handy.
- the screen is only a bit bigger than a kindle
- you need a lot of know-how to set it up
- you’re tied to the desktop still
- it could still have distractions of the desktop that Scrivener needs to run. Perhaps that could be tidied
The same thing is possibly wirelessly ( youtube.com/watch?v=qU3RpK4L … re=related ) but the battery will run out to fast so you’d have to plug into the wall anyway. Might as well keep it plugged into a full computer and be able to use Scrivener.
Who knows, perhaps one day we will see a proper device bundled with Scrivener like this.
