eliminate headers and footers when compiling to DOCX

I’d like to eliminate headers and footers when compiling to .DOCX as I transfer the contents of that document to a “fancier” novel template which changes the page count

Is this possible, or do I have to delete them once I’m in Word

If you delete the contents of the Header and Footer fields in the Page Settings compile pane, does that work?
