Hi everyone. Just joined. I’ve just started writing a novel and needs some help regarding styles.
I have created a style for smartphone messages. The problem is I want to set it so that when I use this style it inserts an empty line before and after the paragraph but cannot find a way to do it.
There isn’t anything about styles that would insert literal lines when you use them—however you might be referring to paragraph spacing; you can see a space but you can’t move the cursor into it or delete it separately?
If so, use the Format ▸ Paragraph ▸ Line and Paragraph Spacing… command from within the styled line. Once you remove the before/after para spacing (or other line-height settings that might be producing this effect), you can redefine the style to remove them globally and from all future use.
