Wish List: Allow Scrivener’s Windows version of the Compiler to emulate exactly what the Compiler looks like on a Mac (for those who use Scrivener on both platforms). This may make Tech Support’s life a little easier as well.
Hi,
From the “Before posting” sticky:
Everything in the Mac version is coming to the Windows, so there’s no need to ask specifically. We’re planning a major overhaul of Compile for both versions, though, as Compile is confusing for many Mac users, too, so the Windows team are going to be working on matching the changes we make to Compile on the Mac version.
All the best,
Keith
Right-o. Read that, and thanks for the polite response.
Meant to convey that the Compiler graphic interface could house all the relevant features in one location. That as opposed to Windows current Compiler settings being scattered under various menus as well as in the Compiler.
No response required. Good day!
Which features are you referring to specifically? Although there are not as many features in total, they should all still be arranged roughly similar between platforms where it makes sense to do so. There are no compiler features in menus, that I can think of.
As I say, the Compile UI is going to be overhauled to be much nicer on both platforms. It’s taken us months of thought to work out how to improve it to keep the power but to make it more accessible, and I haven’t even started coding the changes for the Mac version yet, but I hope users will like it a lot more on both platforms when done.
Thanks and all the best,
Keith
