ePub error with IngramSpark

Hello!

So I uploaded an ePub file to IngramSpark, and when they were validating the file, it came back with this error:
[ERROR]OPS/body1.xhtml: 101,44: ‘doc81’: fragment identifier is not defined in ‘OPS/body36.xhtml’

Any idea what that means, and what I can do to fix it?

Thanks for your help in advance!

I searched for “fragment identifier is not defined in” on the web and it looks like this can result from an invalid link, either broken across lines in the HTML itself, or just merely pointing to a spot that doesn’t exist. For example, this person put a carriage return in the middle of the link code.

You’ll have a better idea by opening up the ePub in an editor like Sigil or Calibre and looking up where the error exists then checking back in Scrivener to see what you’re doing in that location, perhaps even rebuilding a cross-reference link if necessary.

Thank you Amber, I’ll give that a shot! I appreciate the feedback.

Amber,

I downloaded Sigil, went into the coding of the ePub file…AND FIXED IT! Thank you SO MUCH for the suggestion, it’s greatly appreciated.
