Esquire -- Roger Ebert

Esquire has a strong, fine profile of Roger Ebert http://www.esquire.com/print-this/roger-ebert-0310

And make the trek to read Roger, himself. http://blogs.suntimes.com/ebert/

Ebert’s recent film reviews are marvels of humane balance and his other writing is engaging to say the least.

I couldn’t agree more!

The other night I was watching Citizen Kane for the first time in many years. I had the deluxe DVD issue. After watching – and marveling at – the film, I checked out the special features and was very intrigued to see that I could watch the film again with Roger Ebert doing voice-over commentary. So I immediately began watching the film a second time. What a treat it was to have such an enthusiastic and knowledgable guide! Knowing that he’ll never speak again made the experience all the more special.
