Export Preferences

I’ve noticed there’s an option to export/import preferences. I’ll be getting a new computer in December and will be moving my Scrivener to there. Does this export all preferences including the personal word list and substitutions?

No, I’m afraid not. But you may conveniently backup the following folder on your old system and then restore on the new one:

C:\Users\AppData\Local\Scrivener\Scrivener

This will save you current backups, compile settings, layouts, templates, personal word-lists and more.

Hope this helps!

Additional substitutions are saved with the preferences; the word list currently is not, but as r6d2 said, you can easily copy that file from Scrivener’s AppData folder. This article has step-by-step instructions for copying preferences, etc. to a new machine.

Thanks for the help!
