Exporting snapshots to files not working

This is what I do after reading Chapter 15.8 (Using Snapshots) in the Scrivener 3 User Manual for macOS (revision 3.1.4):

  1. Take a snapshot of a document.
  2. Make changes to that document.
  3. Go to “Show Snapshots Manager”.
  4. Select the snapshot and select “Original”.
  5. Export the snapshot as .rtf.
  6. Open the .rtf.
However, the changes don’t appear. I see the original document without the changes.
In an attempt to see what’s the problem, I repeat Steps 1-3 then:
  7. Select the snapshot and select “Compare”.
  8. Export the snapshot as .rtf.
  9. Open the .rtf.
However, the changes also don’t appear. I only see the original document without the changes.
Changes to the document also do not appear after the snapshot has been exported in other formats (.docx and .txt).

What’s the solution?
Big Thanks in advance.

All right, I think if I follow your expectations here, you’re expecting to see an annotated copy of an RTF file exported, when Compare is clicked? If so that isn’t what the software is programmed to do with the export feature here. It merely exports the snapshot, precisely as it was at the time of taking the snapshot, with no markup.

If you do want to preserve a marked up copy, use Copy and Paste into your preferred word processor instead.
