Fade selected Index Cards / Folders / Documents

Was thinking it’d be nice to have a feature allowing you to fade selected index cards, Binder items or Outliner items.

Say I’ve outlined a novel using index cards, but I’m wondering what it would look like if I got rid of a couple dozen cards–it’d be nice, being able to fade those cards for a bit. Not make them disappear completely, just change their opacity–in much the same way that untitled documents are already faded and italicised in the Binder.

(I know I could select all cards but those ones, and view them in the editor, but I feel like my suggestion is a little quicker to use in instances like this, and I would still be able to see the ghost of those “hidden” cards.)

A natural implementation for this would be to merely associate the card dimming with the Include in Compile setting for documents. The dimming effect makes independent sense for index cards of items set to not be included in compile.

Since there is already a menu item for toggling the ‘Include in Compile’ setting, you can assign a key command to it.

Between those two you would then have the desired functionality.

No new special mode or anything is involved, so this would keep the implementation simple.
