I’ve tried searching for the answer to this and i’ve not found anything so far…
I’ve written an FAQ in scrivener and I was wondering if there’s a way to export it as a ‘website’. So that the folders appear as links? I’ve made the headings to each of the ‘pages’ the question. So it would be great if it could be a link someone clicks on to bring up the detailed answer.
So long as you intend for the whole output to be in one web page, then this should be possible. When you compile using HTML output, Scrivener Links can be converted to HTML hyperlinks pointing to the section titles you specify for export. So by example, if I set my folders to generate titles in the Formatting compile option pane, and set their header level to H2 or whatever level I need, (that’s not a crucial ingredient to linking, but will make it easier for the output to be styled) then if I create a Scrivener Link pointing to that folder from anywhere else in the draft, it will become an #anchor style hyperlink pointing to the title on that page.
So a quick way to make a list of all the questions at the top of the page would be to select all of the folders in the Binder, use Edit/Copy Special/Copy Documents as Scrivener Links, then paste that somewhere at the top.
But as an aside, Scrivener’s first FAQ was maintained as a project. It works very well for that sort of thing, because once you get compile all set up and everything working the way you want, generating updates is something that only takes a few minutes to do. I approached it in the same way by having each section be a question so that it could be generated as a title.
