I’m using Scrivener in conjunction with Final Draft 8 FDX files. I have a slight problem regarding Notes in FDX files. Scrivener correctly exports footnotes to Final Draft 8 Notes. They are placed at the exact location where I put them. The problem is when importing a FDX file with Notes.
If I have a Note at the end of a paragraph in Final Draft 8, then when I import the file, instead of placing that note as a footnote at the end of that paragraph, it is moved to the next line (and a single space is added before it).
I’ve recently been working on FDX import/export, and I have greatly improved it for 2.0. 2.0 supports linked inspector comments, and script notes will come as those, which is much more like FD’s own script notes. Not only that, but synopses in Scrivener will become summaries in Final Draft and vice versa - 2.0 will provide a much better Final Draft round trip experience in general.
That said, I’d be interested in testing out your file to ensure this is a problem that has been fixed - would it be possible to send the problematic FDX file to support AT literatureandlatte DOT com?
