Find and Replace not working...[NOTED]

Hi! I am currently using the latest beta version on my new Windows 7 netbook. I was trying to use the Find and Replace feature to change someone’s name within my story. I can get the window for the Find/Replace feature to open, but none of the buttons want to work. I had only just opened the document, and my attempt to use Find and Replace was the first thing I did. I had to find it under the Find option under the Edit menu.

I was looking through this forum and found another topic on the Find and Replace feature, but it involved the crashing of Scrivener. This didn’t happen with me (Scrivener has actually been very cooperative with me, with 0 crashes or problems occurring until now). It’s only that the buttons refuse to be functional. I can close the window and keep using Scrivener, and there won’t be a problem.

Thanks!!

Project-wide search and replace has not been implemented yet, but is on the list of things to do.

Bah! Good to know, but that’s not what I meant. Good to see that it’s on the to-do list, though

Nevermind, though - I fixed it. It worked after I had to close and re-open the program due to a different issue involving importing documents.

Thanks for your reply.

Oh okay. I guess in most cases a character’s name would be distributed liberally throughout hundreds of documents in the project; so the standard Find/Replace dialogue would be a bit tedious. But if you’ve got it all in one place, great!

I can’t make Find and replace work. I’m late to the party, so I don’t know if the fix has been made or not.

I can work without it for a while and if necessary transfer everything to Word to fix my MS, but I was hoping that I could work in Scrivener instead of Word.
