Find and Replace problem

To reproduce:

  1. Open the Find and Replace dialog. Type something you know you’ll find in the “find” box.
  2. Leave the replace box empty.
  3. Click the Find button. Result: The found text is highlighted
  4. Click either the Replace or the Replace and Find button.

Expected behaviour: The found text is deleted. This is what happens in TextEdit.
ERROR: the found text is left in place. Very bad.

This is the same as it works in Scrivener 2 and was a feature request - users got annoyed that they could accidentally delete text by hitting “Replace” when the replace field was empty.

Well, ok. I suppose that shows how long it’s been since I tried a massive conditional delete in Scrivener. Had I seen it in the forum I’d have argued against it for the very reason I reported it as a bug, but that train has left the station. Thanks for your prompt reply.

Also Project Replace seems to work fine.
