I’m currently struggling with formatting my manuscript for printout / PDF.
Is there a way to edit the page settings so there’s a fixed padding between the text and the page number? I only seem to find options for page titles, but not for the footer.
I attached a screnshot to demonstrate what I mean.
Any ideas?
The post you mention describes exactly what I need, but you were right: it’s different on Windows. The features the post describes are not available in this way on Windows. Like the article sais at the end - that solution does not use Scrivener, but a general MAC function that afterwards applies to all programs.
Not sure how to replicate this in Windows, I’m afraid…
Found this thread from 2014 in which Jennifer—one of the forum mods—recommends tweaking footers outside of Scrivener for Windows. Perhaps her advice still holds true today if changes haven’t been made to the software or OS.
On the Mac side of things, we can enter carriage returns into header and footer fields to nudge positioning a little (as mentioned in the thread I linked to originally). Is that possible in Windows?
Thank you so much for your time and efforts. Using the RTF-workaround described in the second link worked for me. I tend to avoid WORD whereever possible, but it did the job for now. Will keep looking for alternatives, but whatever works, right?
