I was wonder how can I make this:
I´m writing a novel and some point I need to put a paragraph which is newspaper article. So, I would make the column thinner than the regular text for both side, left and right. How can I do that?

Select the text you want narrowed. Use the ruler (COM-R) to re-set your margins. This margin change will affect only the selected text, which can also be set in a different type face to distinguish it from other text.
