Hi! I recently changed the default text both of the main text and the notes. Using Documents > Convert > Formatting to Default Text Style changes the main text, which is great! But it doesn’t change the format of the notes. Is there a way to do this? Is this available on the mac version?
Thanks!
I don’t have the answer to your question, but, ultimately if all else fails, you could copy your notes at the end of your document before converting the text to the default format, then move them back in their panel, where they belong.
(Just an idea.)
You can alternatively copy/paste the formatting from the editor to the notes.
As far as I know, there is no equivalent of the Documents > Convert > to default text formatting command for notes (even on the Mac), so you’ll have to do this for each note. You’ll only have to do this once, because all new notes will inherit your new format anyway, but it’s a pain. (Are the notes ever going to be published/printed? Do you need them all to be in the same formatting?)
You can simplify the process a little: if you create a style for your preferred notes format, you should just be able to highlight the text in the notes and use the shortcut keys for that style, without having to change the format manually each time. Right-click on the selected text and you can choose them from the Styles menu as well. Just be sure that the cursor is in the Notes Panel, not the main editor.
I’ve just tried it with Windows Scrivener (via Parallels) and it seems to work fine.

Document Notes don’t really have default formatting, beyond the simple font family+size setting in the Editing: Formatting tab. So there wouldn’t be much to revert to that you can’t easily do with the Format ▸ Font ▸ Show Fonts...
window.
But while you’re in that menu, note the Copy|Paste Formatting commands at the bottom of the top level menu. That’s going to be your best tool for copying notes formatting from one pane into another. There are more selective commands available in the Font and Paragraph submenus, too.
Thanks for the suggestions , I had not thought of them and I should be able to modify what I want more easily now. Even so, I still think that the ‘Formatting to Default Text Style’ option should also affect the notes…
