Freeplane with Scrivener

I use freeplane.

The problem I have is when I try to create a new file in the binder and I point to a freeplane file, it creates a hierarchy in the binder, which I do not want. I want it to create a link to the file so when I click it, it will load the program and I can work in Freeplane.

I can do this for Aeon Timeline and Open Office Calc files, but not Freeplane. I don’t want it creating a hierarchy until I want it to.

Freeplane files are just text files (XML, actually) that Scrivener recognizes and then attempts to import them if you drop one into the Binder, which will create the hierarchy you’re seeing.

If you want just a link to open it on Freeplane, create an empty file instead and drop your freeplane file (extension .mm) into the text. This will create a link that, when clicked, will invoke Freeplane to open it.

Hope this helps!

You can also drag and drop a link to the file using the document or project references in the inspector.
