Full Screen Comments Don't Get Focus

Another FS inspector comment bug, but it seems a separate issue from the report I just made. When working in FS and using the keyboard shortcut to add an inspector comment, the focus doesn’t consistently shift to the comment. In fact I’ve only ever had it shift on the first comment I make in full screen; after that, the default text line within the new comment does get highlighted but with the grayed-out highlight, as though it got focus for an instant and then lost it, and typing continues to add text in the main document rather than in the comment. (And I have tested this very slowly so I’m sure I’m not accidentally clicking away or tabbing out of the comment.) Occasionally there won’t be any highlighting at all, gray or otherwise.

  1. Open a document in full screen.
  2. Use the keyboard shortcut to make a new comment. Focus should shift to the comment.
  3. Use the keyboard shortcut to make another new comment. Focus remains within the document body.

(using 2.0 (5999) on an 2.4 GHz MBP, OS X 10.6.4)

Fixed for 2.0.1. In the meantime, make sure you end editing your comments before editing the main text again. By far the easiest way to return to the main text after editing a comment is to hit the Escape key - this will ensure the comments end editing too. So hit the Escape key after editing a comment to return to the main text and you should be good.
Thanks!
