Getting italics formatting into Pages 09

I do not know a good way to export to Pages 09. That is what I use for print versions of my novels, but when I cut and paste directly, the italics formatting is randomly stripped. It’s there in some spots and missing in other. It seems to paste perfectly into Word, so I tried pasting into Word and then copying that and pasting it in and it seems better, but still on occasion it seems to strip it.

Any ideas on how to make this work?

There are no direct converters to Pages, as Apple has not made the format available.

We recommend Word as the best interchange format between Pages and Scrivener.

Note also that the Export and Compile commands are the recommended mechanisms for getting work out of Scrivener, and may give more consistent results than cutting and pasting.
