Grammar check auto-capitalization

Hi folks,

I downloaded the Scrivener beta and I’m really enjoying it. I think you’ve done a fantastic job and I can’t wait to see what you have in store for the release version.

I did run into an instance in which the auto-capitalization was an issue and I’m not sure if this is a bug or just the way the grammar check functions. It’s a really small thing and there is a work-around, so it’s not a big deal.

When there is a parenthetical aside within a sentence that has punctuation, the auto-capitalization will insist on capitalizing the first word after the closing parenthesis. For example (I stole this sentence from the “Woe Is I” grammar book  ): “Jimmy has already made plans for the money (poor guy!), But his wife is skeptical.” The “b” in “but” is capitalized when it shouldn’t be. I was able to fix this by completing the sentence and then changing the “but” to lowercase. Every time I tried to correct it before the sentence was completed, it was auto-corrected every time I started a new word.

Thanks! And, again, great job!

Hi Nezumi - looks like a niggle. You might be able to get around it by disabling auto capitalisation in Edit>Options>Autocorrection, though that might create more irritation than the original issue?

Thanks for letting us know.
