Magistar Blount completes another trip around the sun today! 21 again. (Hmm… we were probably still reading Hesse when that was actually true.) Well, thought I’d better post the early birthday greeting here (it’s not real to Keith unless it appears in the L&L forums) before I drive 7+ hours in order to share the latter part of the day with him and his family.
Happy birthday Keith!
P.S. With reference to the birthday post Keith wrote for me, I too will fail to present you with a gift on your actual birthday. Well, that said, you will get a little gift, but not the gift! In order to get you excited though (and probably give it away) I did have to pay a deposit, they haven’t finished making it yet, and it will definitely not fit in my car!
Blimey. David got me a SURF BOARD! Although it’s not built yet, so it’s just a rumour at the moment. The rumour is, however, that it is being built to have the word “Scrivener” emblazoned across it. Just because David vandalised his little car with a giant Scrivener sticker, he now feels he has to buy me a gift that will advertise Scrivener to the surfers, air sea rescue and life guards of Cornwall, as they watch my board bobbing in the waves while trying to save me from drowning. So if you are in Cornwall this summer, be sure to keep your eye out on the beaches for someone floundering in the water with a Scrivener surf board.
And may I suggest a policy I’ve implemented for the past few years? Why just celebrate on one day? Stretch it out to weeks. Nothing fancy, mind, just the occasional thing like cashews instead of peanuts, Bordeaux instead of Cotes du Rhone, theater instead of a dvd, etc. etc. Oh, and be sure to include significant other like persons in the fun so they don’t notice the indulgence.
