Headers and Prologues

I have tried to find this in the manual, but to no avail.

  1. When I compile I get the title and the page number, but no surname. How do I add my name?

  2. How do I structure a Prologue? I made a folder, like a chapter folder ,and changed name to Prologue. When I compile Prologue is listed as Chapter 1 and Chapter 1 is now Chapter 2.

Any help on these 2 would be much appreciated. Thanks.

  1. You’re looking for the Page Settings compile option pane. The page headers and footers are set up in that grid. The three choices for each are alignment options. Thus if you want your name on the left side and the page number on the right, you can type your name in the first box of the Header row, and put <$p> into the third box.
  2. The easiest way to do that would be to go into the Title Adjustments compile pane and use the gear button beside Do not add title prefix or suffix to document, and select your prologue file from that list. Another approach you might notice from this panel is to use a “Front Matter” folder, which can be set to exclude title additions entirely for anything with that folder. However that would probably be overkill if you just have this one file (or folder of files, as the case may be) to work with.

Will try it. Thank you so much.
