Since a hoisted container can be closed with the x at the bottom of the Binder, it might be helpful to have next to it a check mark that would create the Hoist in the first place, saving having to navigate the menu structure.
You can create your own shortcut key to hoist/unhoist the binder. Just go to System Preferences, and in the ‘Keyboard’ section create a custom keypress for Scrivener. It’s not quite what you are suggesting but it saves you having to navigate the menus

This used to work well for years, but I can no longer get shortcuts created in Keyboard Maestro or in OSX’s keyboard shortcuts to either hoist or unhoist. Other shortcuts work well in Scrivener. Ideas?
