Holly Payne

Recently I finished her book, The Sound of Blue and found it intriguing. The story line is about a young woman who graduates from college in 1992, but is not accepted into Law School. On a whim she signs up to teach English in the Balkan peninsula. Payne drew me into the experience, disappointing circumstances, heart-breaking tragedies, and music etc. But what I found interesting is that the “feeling” of the book stayed with me, long after I finished the book. Typically I enjoy reading, but the “feeling” of the book does not last.

Anyone else read this book, and experience something like this?

She wrote another (earlier) book, The Virgin’s Knot, that I hope to read in the near future.
