How do I "clear" formatting in a block of text?

I’m new to Scrivener, so please forgive this if it’s a dumb question: How do I “clear” the formatting of a block of text within a file in Scrivener? I’m used to writing in MS Word, and when I got the formatting of a block of text too complex with various fonts or bullets or whatever, as a last resort I could always select that block of text and the click the “clear formatting” button on the home screen menu. Voilà, the text was stripped of all formatting and was back to plain jane text.

Is there a similar feature within Scrivener?

Hi, BigBadBug, and welcome to the forum!

Not exactly the same as you do in Word, but you may want to try this:

  1. Select the text you want to fix (Ctrl-A for the whole document currently on the editor).

  2. Cut the text to the clipboard (Ctrl-X)

  3. Paste back without formatting (Ctrl-Shift-V).

This should remove everything from your view and restore it with the default formatting for text documents established on Scrivener’s preferences. Does that work for you?
