How do I footnote my Draft with specific material from Research?

Newbie here. Journalist.

I need to include footnotes to support the facts in my story.

If I write: “There are approximately 600 species of oak trees,” I then need to highlight/link to a specific line in a document in my research folder: “Oak Trees, a History” by John Smith.

In my Google docs days (yesterday), I would add a comment: “Smith, p34”

How do I do this on Scrivener please? I am hoping that there’s a way for me to click on the fact in my story, and be magically transported to the exact place in the book where I found the evidence.

Thanks

You could add an annotation, “Smith, p.34” with a link to the Smith document in the Research folder. The link won’t go directly to page 34, though.
