How to: convert from one format to another?

I’ve started writing a project as a novel. Suddenly I believe it’s better as a screenplay.

Is there a way to convert my novel format into screenplay?

Hi,

You can’t convert between templates (although you could create a new project from the screenplay template and drag documents from the binder of your novel project into the binder of your new screenplay project),but at the same time there is nothing inherently different between any of the templates. Each template was just created from a blank Scrivener project and had certain files added to it.

So really, all you need to do is switch into scriptwriting mode (Text > Scriptwriting > Script Mode). Maybe split the editor and have your novel text open in the top editor and a blank script document ready below it, and start writing the script based on what you’ve already written.
