How to find back documents with References & Notes?...

I am adding Notes or References to documents, but then did not find a way to find back such documents to follow their additional information…

When looking at a doc, I have visual hints if it has a Synopsis and7or a content, but nothing indicates me it has any further info such as References, Notes, links etc…

It then happened to me that I deleted such “empty” notes, despite they had important related info…

I thought a Saved Search could help, but could not search for such documents…

Any help welcomed! Technical or good practice…

The main indicator for whether something has Notes or References is a little asterisk in the corner of the icon for the respective button, at the bottom of the inspector pane. So what you can do is just open up the Inspector to Notes, and then flip through item by item (I like to use the DownArrow on the keyboard for this), quickly checking for that asterisk or for anything to pop up in the Notes area as you go through.

But for Notes—searching, if you know the word you are looking for—is easier. Just type in the word or phrase you have in mind, and make sure the search tool is set to include Notes. Click on the Magnifying glass icon next to the search field in the toolbar, and ensure it is either on Notes or All. If you have a Saved Search that you think should be working, click on the tab for it. This will load the search query into the toolbar and you can examine the magnifying glass there. It might be it accidentally got saved with just Status searching or something. You can change it, and then create a new fixed Saved Search.

There isn’t a way to search for References.
