How to hide / turn off the text formatting toolbar?

The one above the text editor, where you can change font types sizes etc.
Is there a way to hide / remove it from the display? As an old school guy, I’d prefer to have my scriv workspace without it, just like the 1.x.

It’s in the Format menu: Format -> Show/Hide Format Bar. The keyboard shortcut is Shift+CMD+R
