How to import my print format into the ebook compile section?

I have created a format I call “Electric Bogaloo” for the print/manuscript version of my book. I have saved it as a “My Formats” format. However when I go to compile my book as epub or mobi, “Electric Bogaloo” does not show up in “My Formats” or any other format on offer.

When I try to import “Electric Bogaloo,” it does not appear as an ebook option, only shows up as a duplicate in Print.

In Scrivener 2, you could set the same format for both print and ebook and make modifications (for ebook, say) as needed. Can I still do that in S3?

Edit your boogaloo compile preset. Next to the drop-down list at the top of the list of compile sections (Section Layouts, Separators, Styles, etc…) there’s a gear icon. Click on it, and select all the compile outputs that you want these settings to apply to, such as epub and Kindle formats.

Then select each of those from the drop-down list and modify settings for that format as needed and save.

Thank you, Rdale.
I forgot where that was.

It is interesting that in the ebook version of the Electric Bogaloo format, so many aspects are lost (font size, center spacing), but now I can make a duplicate version of my format, rename it to something appropriate ,and straighten all of that out.

Is this still true? I can’t find the gear menu that you are talking about:

Now, for this: I am assuming that the epub will have it’s own typeface and other settings… as many readers have default typefaces, etc., but I did want to start with a basic template that I already understand.

OK: Answer…
