The Scratchpad-window is constantly in the foreground. Be it Scrivener itself or a browser window or another program. I can’t find an option to keep it in the background, when I don’t use it for a minute. I don’t want to have to constantly open and close it, Is there an option that I can’t find? Or what could be the problem? I’m using the current Windows Beta version.
I’m still using v. 1.9, not the beta. In that version also the Scratchpad is always no top, no option to put it to the background, only to minimize it to the toolbar, and to make it transparent (using the gear icon at the bottom). Sounds like this may not have been changed in the beta.
but you need then to constantly show or hide (or "put to back then to front’), that would be no easyer then just using the shortcut to close/open it, or would it ?
In MacScriv the Scratchpad always floats on top (including of other programmes), so I would assume this is intentional behaviour. I personally use the built-in keyboard shortcut to open and dismiss it as needed. I don’t have WinScriv 1.9 open at the moment, so can’t tell if it’s easy to do same there.
You can pin Scrivener on Taskbar and use Win key combination.
If you’re using Windows under 10, just close this tab.
I’m using this way.
- Pin it on taskbar(In my case, 4th)
- Open ScratchPad and minimize it with ‘Win + Down Arrow’.
- When you need Pad, just press ‘Win + 4(change yours)’ twice(or more, it defends on position).
