How to open inline PDF

Scrivener 3.3.1
Monterey 12.6.7

Hello, I imported a large RTF document containing multiples images and inline PDFs into Scrivener and end up with a nicely formatted Scrivener document containing the images and PDFs.
In Scrivener, the PDFs are displayed as images of the first page, but I am unable to open them. If I right click on them, there is no option to open the PDF.
I thought that the PDFs were lost (converted to images) but this is not the case because if I drag them out of Scrivener, they are fully readable scrollable PDFs.
thanks in advance for your time and help

I suspect the Scrivener RTF engine doesn’t handle PDF attachments as you expect. Sort of makes sense to me as the RTF engine in Scrivener is for writing.

Pragmatic suggestion for right now … take the PDF’s that you have drag out, and then drag them back in as PDFs in the Research Folder. They should be useable there.

thank you but I am extremely surprised that there is no way of opening those pdfs. I will wait for @kewms or @AmberV to comment because changing my workflow.
I imported the same RTFD file into DevonThink, where I can scroll the PDF contents and open by double clicking.
In other words, the information (PDF content) is there. Difficult to believe that Scrivener would lock me out.
Thank you for your comment.

Can you send a sample file to our support address for test purposes?

Is the file in the Draft folder or the Research folder? Or doesn’t it matter?

my email is all ready to send to you but I can’t: the file is 118 MB compressed. What should I do ? thank you

Use the sharing service of your choice, and send a link?

With a file that large, you might also test to see if a stripped down version, say with only one inline PDF, behaves the same way. If not, then the issue may be the file size. And if it does behave the same way, then send us the smaller file.

I trimmed down the file to 1 MB with a few PDFs and the problem persists. I sent an email to mac.support@literatureandlatte.com with the RTF attached subject : attention KEWMS
