How to remove or change page numbers in Compile on a Mac?

I cannot find how to remove or alter page numbers when compiling my documents.

I need to be able to remove them completely for some projects, and I I need to change them to the page range (e.g. 1/5), instead of only the current page, for other projects.

The previous posts I could find that have addressed this are all for earlier Scrivener versions or for Microsoft OS.

How can I do this on a MacOS (15.2) with Scrivener version 3.4?

Thanks for reading!

Edit the Page Settings pane of the Compile format. See Section 24.20 in the Mac manual.

@kewms Thank you for your response

Unfortunately, the Page Settings pane does not offer any options regarding page numbers that I can find. I re-read that section of the manual, but it does not match with the menus I am seeing. It may be that I am still not correctly interpreting where to look, but it seems that the menus are just different.

I visually know the panel where you can add/remove/edit the header and footer fields (using the <$ etc > format). This is how I always made these changes on the old version. I just cannot find where to open this panel on 3.4 for MacOS.

Any further thoughts on where to look for it would be appreciated!

The manual is current and the settings haven’t changed in Mac Scrivener 3.4. What format are you Compiling to? The Page Settings options are only available for formats that support “pages,” so not for ebooks.

Could you post a screenshot? I’ll check your trust settings to make sure you can.
