How to start each document on a new page in Front Matter

I have the following four documents in my front matter.

I have marked each one of them as front matter. When I compile, I want each to be on a separate page. However, they are not, unless I do a hard page break in each one of them. I’ve tried several combinations without any success. What am I doing wrong?

Note: For experiment, I converted each one of them as folders. This seems to have worked. But when I change them back to text documents, it doesn’t.

When I’m setting up my projects, I include a Front Matter section type in the Project > Project Settings > Section Types panel.

That allows me to assign each Front Matter document with that section type. I can then use the compile panel’s Assign Section Layouts button to give my Front Matter section type an example that includes a page break.

In my output file, each document in that Front Matter folder starts on its own page, thanks to that page break in the example text.

I’ve done all these things. However, they are not on separate pages. I seem to be missing something.

this seems to have worked:

Ah drat it. I apologize. I had forgotten I customized that setting as well.

No worries. I’m glad that you responded.
