I think theres a simple answer. But how do I make the title of some of the pages in the contents bar on the left not shaded.

When you say ‘shaded’ do you mean the titles of some documents have a coloured background like this:
If that’s what you mean, the background colours reflect the labels you have assigned to those files. There are various options for how the label colours are shown, so all you need to do is go to View > Use Label Colour in… and turn off Show as background colour in Binder. You can experiment with the various options to see which effect is more pleasing to you…
For example, this is the same Binder, with the background colour turned off, and Icons and Binder options turned on.
If that’s not the problem, please could you describe what you see in more detail?
