I cannot update

Hi,
When I go to tools to do an update it says there is no internet connection, but there is. How do I fix this? I don’t think Scrivener has updated in a very long time.

Thank you,
Gina

You can always manually download and install the latest version directly from the website. In your case, since it sounds like you’re on a much older version (there was a bug in I think 1.2.1 that could give the “no connection” error that you’re seeing), I suggest first uninstalling your current copy before installing the new one. Uninstalling will not affect your existing projects, which are saved externally to the program (in your Documents folder by default, though you may have chosen another location when creating the project). You can also save your program settings before uninstalling by going to Tools > Options… and choosing “Save Preferences” from the Manage menu button. After the uninstall/reinstall process, just return there to load the saved preference file.

You can download Scrivener 1.6 directly from here.
