My first time using the software, I had a ‘warning’ notice that I had saved my folder inside Scriveners operations folder and suggested I move it. so I did by dragging it to the documents file and then when I went to open it in Scrivener it was completely empty. Having downloaded all my files and images and written work from other sites over two full days you can imagine the sinking feeling I had. I have tried to find a copy in back up but when I open zip files there is the same empty files. Cant believe it.
I’m sorry to hear that.
Could you clarify what you mean by “it,” please?
Also, when you say the project was completely empty, was the Binder structure missing? Or did you have the structure there, but not the contents of the files?
You say you went to backups.
Was there only the one? I always suggest dragging backups out of the backup folder before opening then so subsequent backups don’t overwrite them especially if you’ve only got the minimum number selected. (I alway have 25 copies set) Having done that, you can work back though them until you find a good one.
Hopefully if you’ve got them as zip backups, you just extract them to a folder say on the desktop so they are well away from anything else you might have lying around.
I think @kewms is waiting to hear if you dragged the dragged the entire .scriv, or the .scrivx. The first should be your whole project, while the latter would give you a binder structure with nothing in it.
