q letters in purple appear after each line, I don’t know where they come from

These are pilchrows. They indicate paragraph breaks.
Probably you turned “Show Invisibles” on at some point.
Don’t worry, they won’t show in the output document.

How can I make them disappear? They’re very distracting.

Go to Search Menus (under Help) and type invisible. You will then see the path to View > Text Editing >Show Invisibles.

I used the shortcut Ctrl + Shift + \ to turn it off.
I accidentally used the command when I tried to Paste with Ctrl + Shift + V
