To check to see if I understand: If I have a project in the Files App in a folder dedicated to Scrivener, and then I change the project, the project copies to the location I set. Options appear to be my phone or Dropbox. This means I will have to work using the Files App to pick projects and insure changes are consistent. Something copied to Dropbox or “On my Phone” is a separate project.
Is there any reason why Scrivener iOS cannot read and write the files in the iCloud folder directly? Then iCloud does the sync for you and you don’t need API for the users to benefit from it. It sounds like ‘Scrivener’s dedicated file space’ is exactly the root of the limitation.
That has been a limitation of iCloud until very recently. Though iCloud has become more capable, enabling iCloud sync at this point would require some significant structural changes to Scrivener.
