I have a chapter with 7 scenes in it. For some reason, whenever I compile or edit it, it duplicates itself. So at the top of the compilation I see a single spaced version of the entire chapter and underneath that I have the fully formatted version of the chapter.
I’m sure the problem has to do with some sort of setting somewhere, but for the life of me I can’t figure out what/where. Help please!
It sounds like you have text in the folder containing the section. If it is a folder, does it have a little icon that looks like a page nested in the folder? If it is a “stack” of pages, are they filled in? In either case, that means the document as content in it.
Yup! That’s it. This comes up every once a while, as putting text into a “folder” is not something most people naturally think of doing. It’s a great place to stash notes though. If you want to use it for that, just make sure the little “Include in Draft” option is ticked off in the Inspector for that folder. That is the default state for new folders, so yours must have been turned on somehow (most likely you clicked the “Include All” button in Compile).
